U.S. Soldiers need our help

THE MISSION OF OPERATION SOLDIER ASSIST

Operation Soldier Assist (OSA) understands that no matter what the personal cost, our soldiers do what it takes to complete their mission. Our mission is to come alongside our heroes in uniform by bolstering the finances of those that are required to endure extended troop deployments or are presently serving in the military beyond their enlistment contracts due to stop loss regulations. Our goal is to lobby for additional compensation for the burden of war that falls upon our troops and their families.

“The longer tours will have a "chilling effect" on recruiting and the Army´s ability to keep soldiers from quitting the service. We also must not underestimate the enormous negative impact this will have on Army families." —Rep. Ike Skelton, D-Mo., chairman of the House Armed Services Committee.

"Is it an additional strain to go from 12 months to 15 months? Of course it is. Is it in combat and therefore even more difficult? Of course it is. And that's why the entire nation should be thankful that we have such incredible young men and women who, knowing that, who volunteer to serve this nation in a time of great need." —Gen. Peter Pace, Joint Chiefs Chairman
